Established in 2016, Deeniyat Muallima College is a community-based college that aims to empower Muslim women in West Bengal as the drop-out rate is high among them. Founded with the vision of blending Islamic education with modern knowledge, the college aimed to empower Muslim girls and enhance their capabilities to contribute equally to human well-being.
Deeniyat Muallima College (DMC) was founded in 2016 under the leadership of Sheikh Hyder Ali.
Key associates Asfar, Mohsin, Hannan, and Rashidul Kandari played active roles in resource mobilization.
In 2016, the college began on a temporary campus with a few teachers, guided by Principal Janab Ruhal Amin, who later received the "Shikkha Ratna" for his contribution to education.
In 2020, DMC adapted to the COVID-19 lockdown by introducing online courses and setting up a digital lab.
Between 2021-22, DMC repurposed its vision and mission, broadening the scope of learning and empowerment.
Sugata Bose, Gardiner Professor of History at Harvard University and the grand-nephew of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was the keynote speaker at the First convocation of Deeniyat Muallima College in 2023

By 2018, DMC expanded and, with support from Sheikh Masud Rahman, acquired a five-story building in Garpa, Santragachi.
In 2020, DMC adapted to the COVID-19 lockdown by introducing online courses and setting up a digital lab.
Between 2021-22, DMC repurposed its vision and mission, broadening the scope of learning and empowerment.

Digital Lab
The campus has a digital lab equipped with internet facilities to help students become digitally sound.
Social Curriculum
Various social work projects are undertaken to build self-confidence, leadership qualities among the students as well as to enable them to propagate one’s own views in a coherent manner.

Apart from Islamic Education, courses on Nutrition, Methods of Child Education , Management, Computer, English Communication etc. are also offered.

The College provides Library facilities to create an environment of learning and enhancing inquisitiveness among students. There is also an opportunity for local people to read books from our library.

Through these initiatives, students strengthen their communication skills, build confidence, and develop a sense of camaraderie while positively impacting society.
